My Story...

I was not a theatre kid. We went to see pantos at Christmas, but that was about it.

But in 1993 I went to Stratford with my A-level English group and did a workshop with the RSC. I was terrified of being asked to do something embarrasing, of looking foolish and of being laughed at, but I was fascinated and I knew I wanted to do it again. A few months later I got a second chance in another workshop with Compass Theatre and I threw myself into it.

These two events changed my life and I have never looked back!

I got my first paid theatre job in 1994 running workshops and creating shows with a youth theatre group at Barnsley College and have worked in theatre ever since.

I studied theatre at University College Scarborough on one of the best theatre courses in the country. It made me. We created a staggering amount of work, staging dozens of productions, and about half way through, on a week-long residency with Fecund Theatre, I discovered a love for acting and threw myself into every production going - at one point I was working on eight productions at the same time!

I went to the Academy Drama School where we staged another eight full length productions in a year. As one of only two guys I was privileged to have lead roles in almost every one. I graduated in 2000 and have been a professional actor ever since.

Today I am an actor, director, producer and all-round theatre practitioner who has worked in just about every role you can think of on and off stage!

I've toured nationally, performed in international productions and appeared in award-winning films. Theatre is my life and I have no intention of ever doing anything else!

In 2006 I founded Theatre Workout, which is now the centre for education in London's West End and a DMC specialising in creative educational travel. Covering the entertainment, education and travel industries, Theatre Workout is a leading voice in championing the benefits of the arts, culture, creative learning, drama and travel, working with schools, theatres, production companies, arts marketing agents and group travel organisers around the world!

Through Theatre Workout I have worked with some of the biggest productions and producers in the world including DramWorks, Disney, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group, and Stage Entertainment. I've created exclusive programmes for 1984, the Lion King, the Lord of the Rings, 39 Steps, Hairspray, Sister Act, the Sound of Music, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, Chicago and many, many more!

My experience has developed skills in arts marketing, camapigning, business development strategy, and made me an expert in the arts, culture, creative, education and travel sectors.

I am a member of Arts Award, Artsmark, British Educational Travel Association (BETA), Creative Industries Federation, the Drama and Theatre Education Alliance, the Independent Theatre Council, London Tourism Co-operative, and UK Inbound.

Since 2020 I have worked with the Drama and Theatre Education Alliance and the London Tourism Cooperative.
